Position Overview

The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This position is responsible for executing various HR functions, including compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll support, HR policy enforcement, recruitment support, and more. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about streamlining HR processes, maintaining compliance, and fostering a positive work environment.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Human Resources.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring employees receive proper training on company policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Administer and track employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).
  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate timekeeping, deductions, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, implementing best practices to mitigate legal risks.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support performance management initiatives, including conducting evaluations, coaching managers on feedback delivery, and overseeing improvement plans.
  • Facilitate training and development programs, such as mandatory compliance training, leadership development, and career growth initiatives.
  • Conduct and manage background checks, drug screenings, and employment eligibility verifications in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring they align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
  • Promote employee engagement and recognition programs, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to ensure a fair and inclusive workplace.
  • Assist with occupational health and safety compliance, maintaining records of workplace incidents and facilitating safety training.
  • Provide guidance on leave management, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Support employer branding by staying updated on HR trends and best practices, recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and provide desk coverage support for office management efforts.
  • Provide recruiting assistance as needed.
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 3-5+ years of HR experience in a generalist role, preferably in the healthcare industry.
    • 3+ years of HR experience AND a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, OR
    • 5+ years of HR experience AND an Associate’s degree in relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA).
  • Proficiency in HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with performance management, employee engagement, and training programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work full time onsite Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Reliable transportation is required.

  • Full-time onsite (100% in-office)
  • Standard business hours Monday to Friday/weekends as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.
